My son, Brett William Thornbrue, sustained a head injury at Seattle Tacoma International Airport's baggage claim on the evening of 12-19-2016. The Port of Seattle Fire Department and Airport Duty Manager Don Roten, C.M. responded to our call to 911.
Mr. Roten interviewed Brett and me. He clearly recognized the hazardous baggage claim seating arrangement which had led to Brett's injury. He said that he too had once hit his head against that railing at the baggage claim while sitting down. This admission was of course shocking and very upsetting. It indicated a level of negligence by the management of the airport in not having properly addressed and mitigated this previously identified hazard.
I am requesting all Port of Seattle documents, photos, emails, texts, videos, data and other records associated with the incident on 12-19-2016 that are related to Run #16-5872. This request also includes any and all records related to the hazardous seating arrangement adjacent to the associated baggage claim where the injury occurred. How many other people have reported having hit their heads against this same railing as they were sitting down?
