This is a public records request pursuant to the Public Disclosure Act, RCW 42.56 (the "Act"), to
the Port of Seattle (the "Port"), relating to the Port's bid process for retaining design and engineering professionals for Port projects.
"Public records" are defined to include "any writing containing information relating to the conduct
of government or the performance of any governmental or proprietary function prepared, owned, used,
or retained by any state or local agency regardless of physical form or characteristics." RCW
We hereby request the identity of every architectural and engineering firm that the Port has both
selected for a project pursuant ·to RCW 39.80.040 and terminated negotiations with pursuant to RCW
39.80.050(2), within the past ten years. We also request any communications between the Port and an
architectural or engineering firm notifying the firm of termination of negotiations pursuant to.RCW
39.80.050(2) within the past ten years.
Under the Act, agencies must respond within five (5) business days of receiving a public records
request. RCW 42.56.520. We look forward to receiving the Port's response to this request and to
receiving an estimate of any copying charges in advance of such charges being incurred.
In addition, if the Port asserts any responsive documents are exempt from disclosure, we would
appreciate a brief description of each such document and a citation to the specific exemption the
Port believes applies to the document.
